jcpb_rildmiku 3 Bought this fan primarily for its compact size. Granted, compared to the full-size fan with misting function, it doesn't move as much air. At the same time it's much easier to carry. This fan can be recharged via USB Type C — with a very important caveat: it expects legacy USB power sources. That's a problem, as the USB-C charger needs to know that a device has been connected and requesting power. The manufacturer has merely swapped the charging port on this fan from micro-USB to USB-C, without the required circuitry that allows the source to see it as a device requiring power. With a fully USB-C only setup (AmazonBasics USB-C to USB-C charging cables, red), the ChargerLab Power-Z KT001 tester connected inline *does not turn on*, and the fan does not charge. With the cable going to the fan changed to a legacy cable (AmazonBasics USB-C to micro-USB cable, black, and AmazonBasics micro-USB to USB-C adapter), thus forcing the charging circuit to turn on, only then will the fan charge. The fault lies with the manufacturer. In legacy USB power sources, VBUS is always on. A properly designed USB-C power source has VBUS *OFF* unless it senses a device attached. The only way to charge this fan via USB-C is to convert an USB-C power source to a legacy USB source e.g. USB-A, micro-USB.The inability for this fan to charge via USB-C without changing to legacy USB, is the reason for my 3-star rating. It's so close to being perfect.
